ABOUT US

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,

do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

Who We Are

My name is Trey Lambert. I permanently moved to Lynchburg, Virginia in April of 2017 when I married my wife, Meghan Lambert. We recently had our first child on September 12 of 2019: a little girl, Caelynn Alexandra Lambert. We are living in a small home near downtown where I also do most of my woodworking.

My wife and I are both alumni of Liberty University. Meghan graduated in 2017 with her bachelors degree in vocal performance and is currently working on her masters in vocal education. I graduated in 2018 with my bachelors in exercise science - yes, nothing to do with carpentry, I know.

A few weeks before our daughter was born, I felt the Lord calling me to pursue a different career path. After much prayer and guidance from friends and family, I decided to start moving away from my job in a physical therapy clinic and trust the Lord to provide. God gave me the talent and ability to make beautiful things with my hands, and that is where I believe I should be applying my time.

What We Do

Starting a couple years ago, I felt a passion to create things with wood and bamboo. My first project was a coffee table that I made for my parents entirely out of bamboo. When I finished that project, I felt a sense of accomplishment that I hadn't felt before. Since then, I have been building things every chance I get. I may not be a master craftsman yet, but I am a perfectionist. Everything I create is made with every ounce of care I have.

Just recently, my wife and I finished the nursery for our first little girl. All of the furniture in the room was either built or assembled by me and my wife. I built a quilt ladder, two types of shelving, a side table, a custom sign above the crib with our baby's name, and several other things you can find in the gallery.

All custom signs and pictures are painted or drawn by my wife, Meghan. She has an amazing talent for calligraphy and word art. She does all of her paintings free-hand. Her work is also in the gallery. Please check it out!

Why We Do It

I believe that the Lord has given my wife and I the talent to create beautiful things. Psalm 16 says that "apart from God, we have no good thing." Our abilities are good gifts from the Lord. We would not be good stewards of the talent the Lord has given us if we did not use them.

The Bible also says in 1 Thessalonians that followers of Christ should "aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one." Here, the Apostle Paul is writing to the Thessalonians church saying that Christians should work hard for a living and not seek out recognition for anything we do so that we do not become dependent on anyone.

I want to follow Gods command by using the hands he gave me for His glory, not so that I will be praised, but so He can be praised through me. My work is simply an extension of the gift He has given me.
